Sufficient For Me

"My grace is sufficient for you,
for power is made perfect in weakness."
I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses,
in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong."
-2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Even though the first part of this bible verse is the more popular,
more "quotable" part, I find the second half so awakening.

"I am content with...insults...hardships...constraints."
Seeing that really humbles me and makes me beg the question...
For the sake of Christ ...am I content with constraints,insults
hardships and persecutions? I think the beautiful thing about
change is that it forces you to decide. You must decide
what and how this change is going to happen.
You must face your weaknesses head on.

Thinking about this verse reminds me of a
similar verse:

If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first…
If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you… (John 15:18,20)

If you look at the verses together you
see Christ asking us to remember him
during the insults, while under persecution,
enduring a hardship or trying to understand a constraint.

We must draw strength from the cross through all those trials.

In my weakness Lord... How can I ask you to be my strength?
You don't have to be perfect when you bring your weaknesses to Christ
You just have to be willing to let Christ be your strength
for you. In other words you must proclaim, Jesus I Trust in you.
Trusting in God is your armor.

Redeemer, Please pour your graces upon me
and help me to Trust that by the cross,there lies my strength.
